Our Opportunity

Spectrum is seeking Utility Vegetation Technicians for projects around Central Alberta and Saskatchewan for Spring/Summer 2022 that could grow into full-time roles.

Job Responsibilities

  • Responsible for tending to vegetation on utility-owned lands and infrastructure
  • Herbicide application from a truck-mounted spray tank as well as some manual brush cutting
  • Monitor and record weather and data in digital format on tablets
  • Working outside on utility lines and infrastructure using a combination of trucks and ATVs for access

Locations

  • Central Alberta (multiple locations, vary on contract)
  • Saskatchewan (multiple locations, vary on contract)

What You Bring

  • Safety focused,
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and as part of a team,
  • Previous experience operating ATVs and pick-up trucks safely on various road conditions will be considered an asset,
  • Previous experience doing herbicide applications will be considered an asset
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment,
  • One year of post-secondary education in environmental sciences or a related field is an asset,
  • Valid Class 5 Driver’s License and clean Driver’s Abstract,
  • Alberta Pesticide Applicator’s license (will assist in obtaining certificate),
  • Valid Level 1 First Aid Ticket and Transportation Endorsement (will assist in obtaining certificates), and,
  • Ability to pass a pre-employment drug and alcohol test.
